Quality 105: Patient Safety
This activity has been approved by the National Association for Healthcare Quality for CPHQ CE credit
Location: Egypt, Cairo
This six day course is deigned to give an overview for healthcare professionals, administrators and safety officers on the general requirements for patient safety in a healthcare organization. It introduces the basic concepts on how to provide a safe, functional, and supportive facility for patients, families, staff, and visitors. The course is an overview for safety issues that need to be addressed by the organization. It provides the knowledge and necessary information on the regulations need to be followed to ensure safety. It also, provides several tools and techniques that enable participants guide teams and lead the process improvement to control and prevent medical errors. The course is using competency based approach that emphasizes the application aspects of learning.
Learning Objectives:
At the conclusion of this course, participants will:
A.Strategic:
- Facilitate assessment and development of the organization’s patient safety culture
- Identify applicability of patient safety goals (e.g., JCAHO, JCI, NQF, IHI)
- Facilitate development of a patient safety program
- Link patient safety activities with strategic goals
- Integrate patient safety concepts within the organization
- Integrate patient safety findings into governance and management activities (e.g., bylaws, administrative policies, and procedures)
B.Operational:
- Contribute to development and revision of a written plan for a patient safety program
- Coordinate a patient safety program
- Assess how technology can enhance the patient safety program (e.g., computerized physician order entering (CPOE), barcode medication administration (BCMA), electronic medical record (EMR)

Review and study course for the Healthcare Quality Certification Board Exam This activity has been approved by the National Association for Healthcare Quality for CPHQ CE credit
CPHQs who will attend this course will obtain 32 CE Credits
Location: Egypt, Cairo
This six days course is designed for healthcare quality professionals who are seeking certification by the Healthcare quality Certification Board. The course is an intensive review for the comprehensive body of knowledge that is designed according to the new content outline of the CPHQ Exam that will be effective on October1, 2007. It includes quality management, quality improvement, case/care/disease/utilization management, and risk management at all employment levels and in all healthcare settings. Candidates must have background and experience in healthcare quality to benefit from this condensed course. The participants will have live examples from health care organizations that help in the application questions of the exam. A variety of learning methods will be used to ensure full participation during the course. Sample questions will be answered during the course.
